Saturday Night

Saturday night we had a small gathering at Boss and Mary's. It was complete with a fire pit in the back yard and a delicious ice cream bar.

There happened to be a small smoke problem...

For some reason Justin and Andrew thought it was fun to count down the lingering minutes...

After taking many, many pictures, passing out hugs to everyone, and saying our tearful goodbyes, we finally loaded up but even as we pulled out we were hanging out the windows waving and reaching for one last handshake. As the motor home slowly started rolling out Boss and Mary's driveway and our farewell committee lined the road, we ran to the back window to catch one last glimpse of our friends. Driving off into the night, we gazed into the darkness behind us where we had left the small group of Newfoundlanders standing out in the road to see us off. We made so many good memories, and built so many lasting relationships, that it was really hard to leave. Soon, after driving away, we wearily settled in for the night...
Switching drivers periodically, we drove through the night across the island to the ferry...
