After we left the campground today we headed down to Wyoming, New York where the Wilson's live. Right before we got there we stopped to have lunch at the "pavilion in Pavilion".
It was only about 20 minutes from where we had lunch to the Wilson's house. We were all VERY excited as we approached our destination. But, luckily there was some very scenic barns to distract us. I think we have at least 1 picture of every barn, thanks to Andrew's wonderful photography!
Soon we made it through the town and were on the home stretch...
"...we topped the rise and with anxious glances, we looked around to find the alleged house: a brown ranch house atop the green, rolling hills. Finally we spotted it in the distance. The excitement building; our hearts racing, we pulled closer could make out the shape of a small, dark haired man at the end of the driveway. Realizing who it was we rushed up the hill and swerved into the driveway. With bright smiles, we all piled out of the motor home .."
Once we exited the motor home, we all gathered on the driveway and chatted for awhile. Tammi was quite surprised to see us! She thought it was just Jeff & Lori, and Scott & Tanya. After a while, it started to sprinkle, so we went inside. But us kids immediately returned to play knockout in the rain! After soaking ourselves in the rain, we came back inside, chatted in the living room for awhile, and then started preparations for a lovely dinner of BBQ Chicken Sandwiches (raised in their very own backyard), homemade cinnamon applesauce, homegrown new potatoes (harvested just 2 days ago), pasta salad, green salad, and chips.
After dinner, we changed and got ready to play baseball. We all rode over in the motor home to meet the home school group that they play baseball with every Friday night at a nearby park.
It was a really fun and encouraging time. We got to experience a little bit of how Rich and Tammi felt when they came to Texas, not knowing anyone, and having so many new names to learn. Except that we had it a lot easier, because there was only about 30 people there at the park.
We talked for the rest of the night.....
