Monday...

After driving through the night across Canada, we pulled up to the United States boarder, where we were rudely awakened by the border patrol who was not at all happy to see his fellow Americans. He came into the motor home barking orders, and demanding to know how long we were gone, who we saw, the names of the people we saw, what was in our ice chests, if we had any citrus fruit, what kind of work we do, what we were carrying, if we were bringing anything back from Canada, and if so, who was it for. During this whole ordeal none of us were looking our best because it was about 6:30 in the morning, and many of us had been asleep when we were awakened and hurriedly searched the motor home to find our passports. So, we all sat up where we had been sleeping, hair awry, and sleepy eyed while this man asked us question after question and searched through the fridge and other cabinets for any remotely suspicious items that may be lurking in the darkness, including any unexpected stowaways the motor home might be hiding. After executing a swift role call he promptly spun on his heel, clumped down the step and marched back across the driveway to his little office. It was quite a funny experience :)

Around 9:30 we stopped again in Freeport, Maine to revisit the shops and outlets there.

Everyone split up and shopped for about 2 and half hours. Wendy and I ended up having to go back to the motor home and Jeff had given me a key but when we got there I could not get the door open! Desperate times call for desperate measures so, with Wendy's help, I squeezed into the tiny window by the passenger seat and came tumbling into the motor home head first...

When we finished at the motor home we headed back up the hill to the shops. There was a neat little ice cream shop that we saw last time we were in Freeport but we didn't have time to go so we stopped in this time.

There were so many delicious sounding flavors and I couldn't settle on just one so I got 3 half scoops of 3 different flavors and Wendy got 2 different flavors. It was well worth the three dollars :) We thought we were going to meet in front of L. L. Bean where we met last time, but after we sat there for about 20 minutes and saw neither hide nor hair of anyone, we figured we'd better go back to the motor home. By the time we got back down to where the motor home was parked, Lorrie and Tanya had already started making lunch.

Jeff had bought some fish from the fish market the day before we left so the women folk battered and pan-fried it for lunch on Monday. Fresh fish tastes sooo good!

After lunch Jeff went back out to shop at Timberland so we sat under the tree right outside of the motor home and read until it was time to go.

A little way down the road, we stopped at a big outdoor/sporting goods store called the Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine to do some more shopping.

After a few minutes of shopping at the trading post we found a place to dump the tank and fill up again.
We had to stop at Best Buy to pick up a converter so Jeff could charge his Tablet with out turning on the generator.

Lorrie had picked up a little Lego set with a battery powered motor for the boys. Andrew had the most fun driving the little remote control car around the motor home all night.

He had all his lights and stuff set up in the hallway...

We had burritos for dinner.

We thought we were going to be able to see New York City but we never got close enough... :(

Sunday...

We arrived at the ferry around 8:30 in the morning and got in line.

We would not board for a few more hours so we walked around and watched the other ferry pull out.

The boats had been delayed and we weren't able to board at 11:30 as expected. We went back to the motor home and Scott read to us a little bit.

Instead we wouldn't leave until 4:00 so we walked the 30 minutes to Port aux Basques, stopping at Tim Horton's, Canadian Tire, a gas station, and a souvenir shop.

When we got back from out little trip to town, Jeff broke out the ice cream and we had Coke floats. Yum!

While we all got out some regular snacks, Jeff got out some Newfoundland steak. Don't let the name deceive you because it is just a bunch of baloney/bologna :) They say the baloney/bologna from Newfoundland is better than here in the states and Jeff loves it so he got some to take back with us. We were reading the ingredients to see just WHAT is in it. I don't suggest reading the ingredients on baloney/bologna packages... Not too long after our snack, Justin turned on a Hank the Cowdog story. Looking over at the device, Jeff muttered, "mechanically separated dog stories"... In other words, he wasn't too impressed with the story...
Soon we pulled onto the ferry, parked the motor home, and went up to the top deck; our favorite place to sit. We ended up falling asleep before the ship even started moving...

The sun was setting as we pulled into the dock at North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

It was a pretty tight squeeze back to the motor home.

After leaving the ferry, we drove about one block to a nearby park where we made dinner. It was SOOO good!

Once we had finished dinner, we engaged in what Jeff calls extreme RV-ing. They took 2 hour shifts all through the night....
